While a community developed at Kiosk, Fossmill continued
to be home to many of the workers families until the mid 1940's. |

In 1973 after 37 years of successful operation the Kiosk mill was destroyed
in a tragic fire. The following year the Master Plan for Algonquin Park
ruled out any further mill construction within it's boundrys, thus ending
and era in Ontario's logging history.
